Tennis: The WGMS Wildcat tennis team cruised to a 15-4 victory over the Howard Knights on Thursday, April 10. With the win, the Cats move to 6-0 in district play and bring home a District Team Tennis Championship to WGMS. Congratulations Wildcats on a great season!

Track: The 8th grade girls track team finished 5th place and the 7th grade girls track team finished in 6th place at the district track meet on April 4 and 5. The 7th grade boys track team completed their season with a 4th place finish at the district track meet.. The 8th grade boys track team took 5th place at the district meet. 8th Girls Basketball: Congratulations to the 8th Grade Lady Cats B Team for completing the perfect season, 13-0, on January 31 by defeating Mansfield Howard 32-31 in an exciting, heart-stopping game. Trailing most of the game (and 8 points at one time), the Lady Cats came together as a team in the 4th quarter to go ahead of the Lady Knights for good on a Rachel Lanford lay-up with just 34 seconds left. With outstanding contributions from the bench and 110% effort by every single girl on the team, the Lady Cats never gave up and showed why they are District Champs.

The 8th Grade Lady Cats B Team consists of: Rachel Lanford, Bridget Richie, Keri Shelton, Samantha Drusch, Marie Doporto, Mackenzie Grier, Rachel Marlin, Maggie Brown, Jentry Yates, Kelsi Medina, Andrea Wright, Molly Bishop, and Jackie Ortega.

The 8th Grade B Team Lady Cats are District Champions after taking 1st place in the district tournament. The Lady Cats defeated Mansfield Worley, 1st seed Mansfield Howard, and 2nd seed Mansfield Wester to bring the trophy home.

The 8th grade girls A basketball team played in the Duncanville tournament on November 30 and December 1. The 8th A team played a tough game against Duncanville Kennemer on Friday but lost 19-23. They fought back Saturday morning and beat Cedar Hill Coleman 36-15 and played Duncanville Byrd for the consolation match but came up short.

Congratulations to the Lady Cats 8th grade B team for winning the championship trophy in the Frank Seale Invitational here at WGMS on December 1. The Lady Cats defeated Venus 28-6, Waxahachie 36-12 and defeated Cedar Hill Perminter in the championship game 28-22. Outstanding defense, rebounding and teamwork made the difference.

7th Girls Basketball: The 7th grade B team Lady Cats finished up their season on January 28 by beating Howard by a score of 29-20. The 7th grade B team finished 6 -1 in district play and placed 2nd in district! Coach Bowers is very proud of all the players. Way to go Lady Cats! GREAT SEASON!!!!

The 7th Grade B Team Lady Cats won 2nd place in the district tournament. Congratulations, Lady Cats!

The 7th grade A Team Lady Cats won the consolation trophy in the Duncanville Tournament on December 1. They lost the first game to Duncanville Reed 21-33, defeated Lancaster 14-12, and defeated Duncanville Kennemer 32-30 for the Consolation Trophy. Congrats on a great tournament!

The 7th Grade girls B basketball team played in the Midlothian Frank Seale Tournament on November 30 and December 1 and won 1st place! The 7th B Lady Cats beat Venus on Friday night, beat Waxahachie 26-20 on Saturday morning and played Cedar Hill Permenter for the championship game Saturday afternoon and won the game 21-19. The entire team played GREAT!

Football: Congratulations to the WGMS football teams in their efforts this season to return the Porcelain Panther back to WGMS! The teams played outstanding games against FSMS. The 8th grade B team score ended 12-6 in favor of FSMS and the 8th grade A team dominated the scoreboard with a final score of 16-48. The 7th grade B team game ended in a 0-0 tie and the 7th grade A team defeated FSMS.

Volleyball: The 8th grade B volleyball team traveled to Mansfield for the district tournament on October 27. The girls played great and finished 2nd place overall. Congratulations, Lady Cats! WGMS defeated Coble in two games, Howard in two games, and took Wester to three games, but fell short in the third game.

Cross Country: On October 3, our cross country teams participated in the district meet. Placing 3rd overall were the 8th B Girls and 7th A Girls, and bringing home a gold medal for the 7th grade girls was Ryan Wingent.

In the boys division, Dylan Chancey, Jared Chancey and Hunter Childs all three finished in the top ten and along with the rest of the boys 7th Grade A team. They brought home the district championship trophy! Great job to all the boys and girls. Everyone did awesome!!!
