February 10: Valentines Dance, 7-9pm
8th grade Parents: In preparations for the End of the Year Party, the 8th grade parents are hosting the Valentines Dance for the entire school on February 10. This event is a fundraiser to help make the End of the Year Party a success and in hopes that all 8th graders are able to attend with no additional costs to them. We are however asking for your help by contributing a small amount to the concessions for the dance. We are asking for the following by team:
Team 8-1 (Miller, Underwood, Bailey, Boehk): Boys -12 pack bottled water (16.9 oz); Girls-12 pack of canned soft drinks
Team 8-2 (Darnell, Estell, Cornelius, Tidmore): Boys - 12 pack of canned soft drinks; Girls - 12 pack of canned soft drinks
Team 8-3 (Benesch, Floyd, Snow, King): Boys - Large package of individually wrapped candy; Girls - Large package of individually wrapped candy
Please have your child bring the items to the school office and leave with Mrs. Wilson by February 3, 2012. In addition to concessions, there will be a silent auction during the dance. If you have anything lying around that you would like to donate, that would also be greatly appreciated and help make this event successful also. Any other way that you would like to help is always welcome. Please contact our coordinator Jenny Blood at jenny_blood@midlothian-isd.net.
February 20: Early Release at 1:35pm

Leave Your Mark Ceiling Tile Fundraiser
The WGMS Student Council will be selling ceiling tiles for $25 for families/individuals to take home, paint & personalize and then return them to be displayed in the ceiling in the main hallway between the cafeteria & gyms. Similar to the concept of personalized pavers but with ceiling tiles! Stop by the front office any school day to purchase a tile & help us raise money for our school.
Recycling
We will be collecting old cell phones, and empty laser and inkjet printer cartridges all year. Drop your empty cartridges and old phones off in the box in the front office. If your business would like to donate directly, we have pre-paid shipping labels for you to use and WGMS will get credit for the items. Help us raise money to benefit WGMS!
Box Tops for Education
The math department will be collecting Box Tops for Education this year. Each Box Top is worth 10 cents to our school. Please clip these and send them with your child. Collection boxes will be in the math rooms. Visit www.btfe.com for a complete list of products.
