During Bus Safety Week, the Transportation Department staff released pink balloons in the memory of former co-worker, Tillie Square, who lost her battle with cancer on April 12, 2012. Ms. Tillie's legacy continues to have a positive impact on so many people who remember her passion, dedication, and smile.
MISD is now hiring bus drivers for the 2012-13 school year.
Parent Letter
Dear Parents/Guardians and Bus Riders:
The Midlothian Independent School District offers the privilege of bus transportation to and from school as a courtesy service far all eligible students in the district. Eligible students are defined by the state as those who reside at least two miles from the school they attend as measured by the nearest practical route.
Effective transportation service requires the cooperation among bus drivers and staff, administrators, students and parent/guardians. Every effort will be made to promote safe, comfortable and pleasant transportation service, while maintaining an appropriate level of efficiency.
In order to meet the conditions as outlined by the State and promote safe, prompt movement of all eligible students, Midlothian ISD has Bus Safety Guidelines and Rules which are included in the STUDENT SAFE RIDER HANDBOOK [PDF]. We ask that you read and discuss the contents of this handbook with your student so he or she has a clear understanding of the responsibilities and expectations of riding the school bus.
