3/11/10 Results
The boys track teams competed in a tough track meet in Corsicana on Thursday night and came away with several victories. Both the varsity and JV teams finished second overall out of a field of 8 teams including Tyler Lee, Midlothian, Tyler John Tyler, Corsicana, Lake Dallas, Mabank, Fairfield, and Canton.

3/6/10 Results
The boys track teams travelled to Joshua on Saturday for the annual Joshua Owl relays. Both the JV and Varsity finished 4th out of 10 teams in a meet consisting of Arlington Seguin, Mansfield Legacy, Crowley, Everman, Grandview, Joshua, Granbury, Fort Worth South Hills, and Birdville.

Varsity Standouts included Brandon Russell who won the 300 and 110 hurdles, Brent Middleton who placed 3rd in the 100m, Josh Sonnen won the pole vault, and the mile relay which placed 3rd.

JV standouts included James Harris who won the 800m and the mile relay which came in second place.

Both squads will travel to Corsicana on Thursday.

Congratulations to the Lady Panther Track Team! The Lady Panthers traveled to Joshua last Saturday for a meet. They once again proved they are working hard and preparing for district in April. The varsity girls finished 3rd over all out of 10 teams. Our 4x100 relay (Lauren Tryon, Aleena Wallace, Jasmine Pitts, Ashely Cox) made a strong showing for 1st place with at time of 49.95. The 4x200 (Lauren Tryon, Ashely Cox, Jasmine Pitts, Ashley Cunningham) held off Legacy to take 2nd place. Ashley Cunningham won the 100M & 200M, Carly Kitts wins the 3200M, Riann Winget wins the 800M. Also scoring big points was Kayla Lister, Bria Henson, Brandi Spillers, Amanda Thorndike, and Cheyenne Boteler.

The JV girls have been working hard too. Their efforts earned them 2nd place as a team. Scoring points for their team were Tatiana Martinez, Miranda Villreal, Erin Summerline, Julie White, Kayla Robinson, Lindsey Asher, Kirby Gunter, Sydney Houston, Kylie Hemmle, Kerri Allred, Morgan McNatt, Ashley Kocian, Deriyan Whitaker, Katie Allred, and Breshaunna Smith-Belle, Sindey Houston and Micha Masters. Thanks Ladies for all your hard work. Wish them luck as they travel to Corsicana on Thursday.

Austyn Rapp signed a National Letter of Intent to Pole Vault for the University of William and Mary in Virginia.


Midlothian is now a 5A School District

This morning the University Interscholastic League announced its district alignments for the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 school years. UIL governs most secondary extracurricular activities in Texas and assign classifications to schools based on the high school enrollment. During the October snapshot date, Midlothian High School had 2,215 students. The cut-off to be considered a 5A school district is 2,065+ students. Therefore, MISD is now a 5A school district. More
