Baxter 5th graders investigated their first forensic crime scene! MEF grant moneys hard at work.


Skype Baxter 1st graders in Mrs. Gilson's class Skype with Mrs. Flood's class. Mrs. Flood's students are 1st graders in Puducah, Kentucky. This was our first time to talk, so students told their name and favorite part of 1st grade.

Score a Four Writing comes to life for Baxter 4th graders at "Camp Score-A-Four"! MEF Grant moneys hard at work!

Red for Heart Baxter staff and students wore red shirts in honor of American Heart Association Day.

Special readers Stop, Drop, and Read at Baxter Elementary. We had several volunteers to come and read to classes, including Raggedy Ann and Andy!



The Morris Brothers performed at Baxter's Math Nerd Night. They involved the students in humorous learning. After their performance, students played grade level math games.

Bingo Party Baxter's 3rd grade earned a Multiplication BINGO Party. Great job on learning those facts!

Moore Visit Baxter Elementary gave their "Hats Off" to School Board member Tom Moore for doing an outstanding job! Each grade level presented Mr. Moore with a token of appreciation for his role on the School Board. Thank you Mr. Moore!

Baxter staff and students organized and donated 110 shoeboxes filled with everything from toothpaste to toys, and sent them to needy children in Haiti. We surpassed our goal of 100 shoeboxes! Thank you to everyone who donated. We also sent 10 shoeboxes and 4 large boxes to our local Manna House. Baxter's Circle of Friends embraced the Holiday Season of giving!

Sparkle the Tooth Fairy spoke to PreK and Kindergarten about how to keep their teeth healthy and clean. You don't want one of those sugar bugs to get in your teeth! YUCK!

Zoobilee Baxter turned into a zoo in 3rd grade's program, "Holiday Zoobilee." A job well done!

Snow Break 2nd graders and their buddies enjoyed a break out in the beautiful SNOW! How exciting!

MEF Grant Baxter's CBI and PPCD Department won a grant totaling $4,996.13! This will fund "The Sensory and Motor Developmental Laboratory." WAY TO GO! We are so proud!

5th grade did an OUTSTANDING job on their performance of "Pirates." They worked very hard and it showed. Congratulations!

Choir Baxter's All City Choir members pose for a picture after their weekly practice. They will be performing a Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 3 at Chickfila at 6:30pm. Keep up the hard work!

Baxter staff and students were PROUD to honor the men and women who served in the military with a Veteran's Day assembly. Students made patriotic posters that lined the hallways, sang patriotic songs, and recognized our veterans. Thank you so much for your service to our country. Our school's name sake, T.E. Baxter, is also a veteran.

Classes from each grade level at Baxter that sold the most during our Cookie Dough fundraiser were thrown a PARTY! There were bounce houses, Wii games and lots of music and fun!

Teacher Witches for Red Ribbon Week What's brewing at Baxter?...LEARNING! 4th grade teachers dressed as witches during Red Ribbon Week to say BOO to drugs!

Judge Sibley came and spoke to 2nd graders about how the court system works. She even brought along the Constable! Thank you for coming! We learned interesting facts about the courts.

Night at the Library was a HUGE success! We had a Cat In The Hat, a couple of Pirates and even a Cowgirl! There were games, costume contests and read alouds. Everyone had fun shopping for their favorite books too.

Policeman Wise and his father Fireman Wise spoke to 2nd graders about their jobs. They also talked about how to recognize law enforcement in emergency situations. Thanks for coming--we learned so much!

Skeleton Art 1st grade is learning about the body. They made AWESOME skeletons to show the bones! How creative!

Destination America 4th grade ROCKS out in their program, Destination America! Great job 4th grade, you really worked hard!

BPTW award Dr. Kennedy presents Nena Challenner, Principal, and Anita Day, Assistant Principal, with a framed medal naming MISD the #4 Best Place to Work in the Metroplex!

Brown Visit Donna Brown, Code Enforcer for Midlothian, came and spoke to 2nd graders. They are learning all about Midlothian long ago and now.

Local Firemen came and spoke to the students about fire safety. They showed us really cool gadgets on the fire trucks and even had a contest to see who could put on the fire suit the fastest...Mrs. Bass WON!!

Computer Lab Students are enjoying educational and fun games in Computer Lab!

Pirates ARRRGGG, Maty! 2nd graders are studying about Pirates. They wrote poems about How to Be a Pirate! Very creative!

Boomwhackers 3rd graders in Mrs. Bass' music class are playing their BOOMWACKERS! This practices listening and helps them work together like a band!

Walking Students in P.E. class are walking or jogging their 1/4 mile for great exercise. Way to go! Let's get FIT!

2nd graders had a blast making their own maps of Texas using salt dough they made themselves!

Grandparents Day Teachers and staff welcomed visitors who attended Grandparent's Day. What a great turn out we had! The students always love to have someone special come and eat lunch. Remember you are welcome to come ANYTIME!

Constitution Day 5th graders listened to local law enforcement officers explain our constitutional rights. They also wore RED, WHITE and BLUE to represent Constitution Day.

Bear Parade Kindergarten enjoyed their annual Teddy Bear Parade. They wore pj's and brought their favorite bear or stuffed animal. What a fun, fabulous way to spend a Friday!

Fundraiser Did he say COOKIES? Students are excited to hear about our fundraiser this year. Money raised will be used for campus improvements and technology. Will you help out and buy some cookie dough?

Pink Out Staff! Pink Out Day at TE Baxter! Teachers and staff show their support of cancer awareness by wearing their PINK shirts!

Gingerbread hunt Run, run as fast as you can. You can't catch me I'm the Gingerbread Man! Kindergarten classes searched ALL over the school to find the Gingerbread Man that ran away. They found him in the office and then ate him up!!
