Thursday night the JV2 Boys Soccer team played Lifeschool at Midlothian ISD Stadium. The Panthers played hard but came up short 0-2. This brings their overall record to 6-7-3. The JV2 Boys next game is Saturday at 11:30 at Corsicana.
The JV1 Lady Panthers Soccer Team lost a match to Mansfield by a score of 0-3 Wednesday night. The team struggled to find a rythm in the match, and gave up goals on two corner kicks and a penalty kick. The Lady Panthers are now 10-4-2 on the season and 6-2-1 in district. The next match will be Friday at 6:00 versus Desoto at MISD Stadium.
The JV2 Girls defeated the Mansfield Lady Tigers by a score of 1-0. The game was intense with both teams staying very agressive. Despite numerous opportunities for both teams in the first half the score was 0-0 going into the break. Early in the 2nd half, the Lady Panthers won the advantage off a corner kick from Courtney Varner. The ball bounced around and then off JoJo McDonald to an open Jordan Phillippi, who scored the only goal. The girls ended a short losing streak and now have a 9-4-3 record on the year and a 3-2-1 record in district.
The lady panthers beat Mansfield 1-0 behind freshmen Brooke Greeson's 2nd half goal. The game typified what has become a hard hitting midlothian / Mansfield derby. With the win the girls move into a first place tie and has a district record of 9-1, and 15-3-2 overall. They will play Friday night at desoto.
The Panther Soccer lost to Mansfield Tuesday night 3-5. The boys are 3-5-2 in district; 4-10-4 overall.
The Lady Panther JV1 Girls Soccer Team Defeated the Grand Prairie Gophers by a score of 6-0 Friday Night. The Lady Panthers dominated the match from start to finish. The shut out was secured in goal by Sierra Miller and Kathleen Lemus, helped by tremendous defensive play by all of the ladies. Scoring by the Lady Panthers was shared by six different players including Morgan Pendley (Rileigh Tanguma assist), Sarah Mendoza (Morgan Pendley assist), Maresa Carter (Kira Rodgers assist), Abby Whitworth (Bre Niehoff assist), Madison Conte (Hailey Bohmaker assist), and Bailey Watson with a set piece to the back of the net from 30 yards out. The next game is Monday versus the Mansfield Tigers at Mansfield High School at 6:00. The team needs to get the win to take a share of the district lead with Mansfield. The Lady Panthers are now 10-3-2 on the season and 6-1-1 in district.
The JV2 Lady Panthers lost in a heartbreaker to Flower Mound Marcus 1-0 Friday night. The girls battled and created opportunities throughout the game. Hannah Wise was fantastic in goal, on defense, and at forward. She impacted the game in all aspects. The ladies were tied at 0-0 until they surrendered the only goal scored on a penalty kick with less than 3 minutes left. Despite the loss, the girls played well against a skilled Marcus team. They now have a record of 8-4-3 on the season.
Friday night the JV2 Boys Soccer team played Grand Prairie High School and lost by the score of 3-0. This brings their district record to 1-3-2 and 6-6-3 overall. The JV2 Boys next game is Thursday against Lifeschool at MISD Stadium at 5:30.
The Lady Panthers played Grand Prairie on Friday night. After playing against a team that parked both buses in front of the goal, the Lady Panthers managed two goals and gave up only the third goal in district play.
A goal by Alexa England and Kamy Martin secured the win against a determined Grand Prairie team.
The win puts their district record at 8-1 and 14-3-2 overall. The Lady Panthers will play Mansfield in a huge game Tuesday night. Kickoff is at 8pm.
Cristian Espinoza beat the buzzer with a 30 yard free kick to put the Panther Soccer team past Grand Prairie with a 1 nil win at the Gopher Bowl Friday night. Takoda Davidson had the shutout for the Panthers. The Panthers are 3-4-2 in district and 4-9-4 overall. The boys face Mansfield Tuesday at the MISD Multipurpose Stadium.
