January 31

PanthersThe Lady Panthers beat the visiting Kangaroos 3-0 on Senior night. The girls put together their best overall attacking game with Riann Winget, Ashley Cox and Eliza Carey getting the goals. The win puts their overall record at 5-2-2 and will open up their district campaign against South Grand Prairie on Tuesday night.

The JV2 girls soccer team dominated last night against HEB Central. They won 4-0 with goals from Kaitlin Ocampo, Samantha Rodriguez, Miriah McElheney and Cori Guthrie. Their record is now 5-1-1. They will visit Colleyville Herritage on Saturday.

The JV 1 soccer girls took on the Weatherford Kangaroos on Tuesday night at MISD stadium. The girls started slowly and were down 1-0 at half. In the second half they came out playing some of the best soccer they have played all season and won the game 3-1. Matty Mosley scored 2 goals and Caitlin Conley added another. The girls record is now 4-1-1 and will start district play next Tuesday night against South Grand Prairie.


January 30

PanthersThe Panther soccer team defeated a skillful and hard working Trimble Tech team Monday night 6-2. Tech scored early in the first half. Preston Haught equalized before halftime on a breakaway(Jose Morales assist). The Panthers opened things up in the second half with two opportunistic goals from Joan Lemus (Haught and Leevi Schwartz assists). David Goss added the Panther's forth on a forty yard unassisted rocket to the upper 90. Jared Chancey finished things off with two late back post goals (Laurence Chamberlain and Dylan Chancey assists). The Panthers are 3-4-3 heading into district play next week.

January 29

Last night the JV 1 soccer boys lost their last non-district game against Trimble Tech. They start district play next Tuesday against South Grand Prairie. Their record is 2-3-2.


January 27

PanthersLast Friday and Saturday, the JV2 girls soccer team participated in the Cement Capital Classic Tournament. They had a promising first day defeating John Tyler 7-0 and South Grand Prairie 1-0. The goals were scored as followed: Kami Martin, Mariah Estrada and Taylor Baril each had 2 goals while Autum Schwartz and Cassandra Rodriguez had one respectively. Unfortunately, on Saturday they felt short by allowing a goal against a HSAA and tying the game against University. These two games sealed their chances of winning the tournament. The Lady Panthers record is now 4-1-1. They will be hosting HEB Central on Tuesday at 4:30 at the stadium.


January 26

PanthersThe Panther JV 2 Boys competed in the Cement Capital Classic Tournament and won a tough fought match against Irving MacArthur with goals coming from Trace Ramsey and David Goss. Panthers win 2-1.

In the late match versus Kennedale, the Panthers controlled much of the match with Gerrardo Otero scoring 2 goals and having numerous more opportunities. The panthers played well, led by Miguel Leal, Ethan Trimmier, Christian Boldon and Kelly Maxwell. The panthers continue in the tournament with matches against Midway and Waco University on Saturday at 9:15a.m. and 1:00p.m. respectively.

The JV I soccer boys played in the Cement Capital Classic Tournament this past Thursday and Saturday. The boys only allowed 1 goal for the entire tournament, while playing 4 very tough games. The Panthers tied Waco University 0-0 and Irving McArthur 0-0. They beat Ennis 4-0, and lost to Midway 1-0. The boys' record is now 2-2-2. They take on Trimble Tech Monday night at MISD Stadium.

The JV I soccer girls took home the tournament title in the Cement Capital Classic Tournament this past Friday and Saturday. The girls did not allow a single goal for the entire tournament, with great goal keeping from Sierra Miller and Alex Yzaguirre. The Lady Panthers tied Azle 0-0, beat Sherman 6-0, beat Corsicana 5-0, and in the championship game, beat McKinney Boyd 1-0. Goal scorers for the tournament were Madeline Mosley, Ariana Masole, Caitlyn Conley, Kelsey Martin, Jennifer Bernard, Haley Drerup, and Caitlin Kennard who netted the game winner in the championship game. The girls' record is now 3-1-1. They play Tuesday night against Weatherford at MISD Stadium.
