YMCA After-School Care
The YMCA Childcare Program is an after school childcare service offered at all six MISD elementary schools. The YMCA maintains a staff to child ratio of 1 teacher per 15 kids. The program is licensed by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services and conforms to the strict standards of the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas. The program serves children in grades K-5, with care available from 2:45pm-6:30pm, Monday-Friday.
Children are provided with a healthy snack, an opportunity to complete homework, a variety of self-directed activities, special projects, arts and crafts, and indoor/outdoor recreational play under the supervision of trained YMCA staff. We have an underlying goal, which seeks to provide a happy atmosphere, develop positive self-esteem in children, strengthen self-discipline, stimulate self-expression, and to help build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities.
