Carpenter named Coach of the year
Congratulations to Midlothian High School Girls Head Powerlifting Coach, Craig Carpenter on being named Region 3 Division 1 Outstanding Coach of the Year by THSWPA.
The Midlothian Lady Panthers had 19 girls compete in the Region III Power Lifting Meet in Crandall on Saturday. The lifters that qualified for regionals include: Paulette Herrera, Taylor Skinner, Liliana Esquivel, Lily Escamilla, McKynsi Moore, Daiza Ellis-Williams, Hannah Hendrix, Grace Bell, Alex Crannell, Andrea Castro, Raegan McGuire, Kaylee Goerig, Anna Scott, Susana Mancilla, Sabrina Rodriguez, Storri Williams, Jazmin Brooks, Carla Juarez, and Mattison Drake. It was a great day for the Lady Panthers with 12 lifters earning medals for a top five finish. They include: Paulette Herrera, 2nd place; Taylor Skinner, 2nd place; Liliana Esquivel, 4th place; Lily Escamilla, 1st place; McKynsi Moore, 4th place; Grace Bell, 1st place; Alex Crannell, 3rd place; Andrea Castro, 5th place; Raegan McGuire, 1st place; Susana Mancilla, 5th place; Storri Williams, 2nd place; and Jazmin Brooks, 5th place. Individual honors went to Lily Escamilla for Light Weight Division Outstanding Squat, Outstanding Dead Lift, and overall Best Lifter. The team combined to earn 45 points and took home the Division 1 Team Championship.
The Lady Panthers had 13 lifters qualify for the State Meet. They include: Paulette Herrera, Taylor Skinner, Lilian Esquivel, Lily Escamilla, McKynsi Moore, Hannah Hendrix, Grace Bell, Alex Crannell, Raegan McGuire, Kaylee Goerig, Susana Mancilla, Storri Williams, and Mattison Drake. They will travel to Corpus Christi to compete against the best in the state on March 14th. Congratulations on a great Regional Meet!
