5th Graders at Mt. Peak performed the musical review of American's history, "The American Dream" written by Roger Emerson and John Jacobson. The musical was a celebration of American's liberty and freedom. |

Mt. Peak students and staff gathered in the gym for a College Day Assembly. The teachers stood in their "College Groups" and each group told the name of the college they attended, the location, the school colors and mascot. They also wore their college shirts and displayed their school banners and diplomas outside their rooms. |

No TV Week at the Peak. Students enjoyed fun activities and story telling from some of their favorite books including "There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly" and "Three Billy Goats Ruff". |

The students and staff at Mt. Peak dressed up as book characters. They kicked off their fall parties by participating in a Pumpkin Sing-Along in the gym, then marched through the school in a Parade of Characters. |

Mt. Peak kicked off Red Ribbon Week with a NED assembly. NED stands for "Never Give Up", "Encourage Others", and "Do Your Best". Our guest, Jeff, performed awesome Yo-Yo tricks while presenting a message that helps students keep Mt. Peak a safe and drug free school. |

Steve McCauley, weatherman from WFAA-Channel 8, came to talk with the 4th graders at Mt. Peak about weather in Texas. The students enjoyed learning about how a tornado forms, what to do when you are caught out in an electric storm, and why we may have a wet and stormy winter due to El Nino. Mr. McCauley was an excellent speaker who delighted the students with explanations that helped them visualize weather concepts. |

10 teachers from Mt. Peak were selected to receive a bouquet of flowers, a cake, and a $100 gift certificate to Walmart for being a great teacher. These teachers are a great example of those who go above and beyond the call of duty. Congratulations to them for all their hard work!!!! |

Mountain Peak 5th graders in Mrs. Xavier's math class reviewed for their place value test using clickers. Clickers are a classroom performance system using technology to respond to a question as a whole class. When asking the class how they liked the clickers Austin stated, "The future is now!" Georgia said, "They are awesome!" |
