Mt. Peak Elementary is in the Midlothian Independent School District. Mt. Peak first opened its doors on September 2, 1997, with a population of 517 students in grades Pre-K through 5. The building is located at 5201 FM 663 in Midlothian and serves the community south of town stretching northwest to Highway 287 (View
Attendance Zone Map). Mt. Peak at one time housed the largest population within the Midlothian elementary schools. The 2004-2005 enrollment was 690 students in grades Pre-K through 4. In 2005-2006, Mt. Peak returned to being a Pre-K through 5th grade campus. In 2007-2008 the enrollment was 730. The enrollment for the 2008-2009 school was 500. The enrollment for 2009-2010 is 560.

We have many programs, which have been designed and implemented into the learning process to assist our students in their educational process. Some of them include: Pre-Kinder, RISE- Reading Is Essential, LEAP- Learning Extension Acceleration Program, Dyslexia Programs, ESL –English as a Second Language, Tutorials, Counseling-all levels, Gifted and Talented, Summer School, The Peak Performers-choir, The Science Expo, The Living Museum, Musical Performances, DE-Destination Imagination, Math Pentathlon, Service Learning Projects, Student Council, Computer Lab, and Special Education Services.
We have a wonderful PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) Program (visit web site), and their mission is to support and provide resources for teachers, staff, and students. This is accomplished through the following opportunities: reading the students, coaching academic teams, playing math games, coordinating class parties, supporting fundraisers for school programs and equipment, helping with Book Fairs, hosting teacher appreciation luncheons, and many more!!
