MHS Summer School
Fee: $130 per semester course  
- Courses will be on the computer with teacher assistance in the core areas
- Tuition must be paid BEFORE students can register for summer school   
- Student's counselor MUST sign the registration form
- Students can take either semester course on A+
First Summer Semester:  June 11- June 28
Second Summer Semester:  July 9- July26
    3 Sessions: 47 students per session   
        1st session:    7:30-10:15
        2nd session:    10:30-1:15
        3rd session:     1:30-4:15
- Pay by June 7th to be assured a spot for 1st summer session
- Pay by June 28th to be assured a spot for 2nd summer session

Sophomores and Juniors - Summer ACT Test Prep Course
Sophomores and Juniors are invited to participate in a two-week summer ACT Test Prep course beginning Monday, June 11 at the high school. The first practice ACT test will be given during school on May 2.
- Two sessions are available: June 11 - June 21 (Mon-Thurs) in the MHS Library  Distance Learning Lab from 9am-12pm OR 1-4pm.
- A $200 deposit is required to enroll in the course. Upon meeting certain requirements $100 will be refunded.
Class sizes are limited. Additional information and the registration form can be obtained from Mrs. Wooten in the MHS Guidance Center.

Dual Credit Scholarship - Navarro College
SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT: Tuition and fees for one three hour dual credit class
CRITERIA:
- Must be an Ellis County resident
- Must submit completed Navarro Dual Credit Application to the Dual Credit Coordinator
- Must submit an official High School Transcript
- Must submit TAKS scores (if applicable) and/or Accuplacer scores that show eligibility
- Must submit typed essay of 300 to 500 words by the student explaining student's need for assistance and current educational and career goals
- Must submit letter of recommendation from high school official
- Must show evidence of grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

DEADLINE: Application packet must be submitted to Navarro College-Waxahachie Campus by 5:00PM on JUNE 1, 2012

College Day Visits
Juniors and Seniors are allowed two (2) school days, per year to visit colleges, universities and/or trade schools. All college visits must be pre-approved to be considered an excused College Day Visit.
At least one (1) week prior to the college visit the student must:
- make prior arrangements with the college Admission's Office
- go by the MHS Guidance Center and request a "College Day Visitation" form
- obtain all required MHS signatures on the "College Day Visitation" form and return to the MHS Guidance Center.
During the college visit the student must obtain a signed letter (on college letterhead) stating the student's name and date of visit. Upon returning to MHS the student must turn in the signed letter to the MHS Guidance Center for the absence to count as a college visit.

Attention Parents/Guardians
Free Tutoring - P.A.S.S (Panther After School Scholars)
- Mondays-Thursdays 4:00-5:00 PM
- Computer Lab 620 (south end of the building)
- Free tutoring is available for all freshman (study skills, homework, computers/printers, certified teachers)
*students will stay the entire hour and are responsible for transportation home afterwards

Community Service Hours Available
All Midlothian High School students must complete at least 10 hours of community service over their high school career. This community service is a graduation requirement for Midlothian Independent School District and part of Board Policy. The program is administered through social studies and details are explained in the community service program flyer and service form. [PDF]
