Spring 2010 Grants
The Grant Committee is recommending funding of the following:
Grant #1
Grant Title: Coach Timm’s Trotters
Campus: Irvin
Teachers: Ryan Timm, Christine Dobbins, Casey Rogers, Nikki White,
Jill Dunegan, and Christy Tidwell
Amount: $5,000 ($11,500 total, additional funding to come from PTV)
Grade Level: K-5, 300+ students from other campuses that participate
Subjects: P.E., Math & Science
Implementation: Fall 2010
Coach Timm’s Trotters will be given the opportunity to have access to a walking/running track that will be usd during PE classes, recess, and after school hours. Research has shown that physical activity increases academic performance, reduces the number of discipline referrals to administrators, and increases school attendance. This grant is meant to encourage students to live a healthy lifestyle, be successful academically and make running/walking a part of their everday life. In doing so, it is our goal to establish a “Running Club” at the elementary level to participate in various local running/walking charity and wellness events.

- $2,500 (made a permanent line item in budget)

Total Spring 2010 Budget: $13,000
Star Patrol: Friday, March 12 – 9 a.m.
9 a.m. Meet at administration building. Award McClatchey Teacher Scholarship Fund check to committee members and previous scholarship winners.
9:30 a.m. Go to Irving and present Coach Timm’s Trotters grant. Return to Admin no later than 10 a.m.
