"Remember the power of your words." This was a lesson learned in Mrs. Mooring's class after reading the book Mr. Peabody's Apples. The students wrote their own version of the book and presented the skit in class in front of their peers. It's important to always think before you speak and to never be too quick to judge someone. Tommy Tittlebottom learned a hard lesson when he realized that he spread a rumor that could have ruined Mr. Peabody's reputation. When he realized the damage he had done, he asked Mr. Peabody if there was anything he could do to make it up to him. Mr. Peabody had him cut open a feather pillow and let the feathers blow in the wind. Tommy was confused. Mr. Peabody told Tommy to pick up all the feathers, but Tommy quickly responded with, "Well, that's impossible." Mr. Peabody said, "Well, it is just as impossible to undo the damage you have done to my reputation by spreading the rumor that I am a thief. Each feather represents a person in Happville."
Be careful with your words! Once you've said them, you can't take them back!
