A Learning Adventure is coming this summer
Midlothian ISD is offering for the first time the Academic Camp for Elementary (ACE) this summer. To sign up, visit the L.A. Mills Administration Building on February 23, from 6-8p, with a completed registration form and payment. Classes must have at least ten students to be held at ACE. Class sizes are limited and will be filled on first come basis. Download the flyer [PDF] for registration form, course descriptions, dates and times, fees and other additional details.
Tutus and Ties . . . oh my
The annual PTO Tutus and Ties (Father/Daughter) Dance is slated for Saturday, February 11 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. The theme this year is "Winter Wonderland" and plans are underway for a spectacular evening! Information about this event will go home on Monday, January 23 in backpacks. Tickets will go on sale soon at $25.00 per couple so get your tickets early!
HEART Rock Cafe Comes to Miller
The annual Miller Elementary Jump Rope for Heart campaign will kickoff with a special assembly on Friday, Feb. 10th. Sponsored by the American Heart Association, students will once again participate by learning about heart disease, living an active lifestyle in order to keep healthy, and working to secure sponsors for our upcoming Jump Day on Friday, February 24. Be watching for more information as we get ready for the Heart Rock Cafe this year!
D.A.D.S. rule!
Are you a morning person? Do you like to greet others with a friendly smile, high-five, or wave each day? Are you interested in starting off the day with 639 eager learners and their 71 leaders? We have THE opportunity for you--our wonderful D.A.D.S. Program (Dads Assisting Daily Smiles) is underway at LME! We are blessed to have a core group of hardworking dads who volunteer early morning duty time before school to greet our learners and leaders. Testing Weeks Noted for 2012
Please be aware the weeks of March 26-30 and April 23-27 are state assessment weeks on campus. We will be closed to all visitors and volunteers during these times in order to secure our testing environment for learners and their classroom leaders. You are welcome to phone the front office at 972-775-4497 to assist you should a need arise. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

Want to show your love for MISD? Midlothian ISD Education Foundation is giving away free "I Heart MISD" window clings at the MISD Administrationg Building. Stop by and pick yours up today, but don't stop there! Get your "I Heart MISD" yard sign today! A $50 contribution to MEF, and you will receive a yard sign showing your support of MISD students and staff. Order online and signs will be available within a week of ordering and available for pick-up at the MISD Administration Building, 100 Walter Stephenson Road.
