LaRue Miller Elementary, located at 2800 Sudith Road, is named for an outstanding MISD 45-year educator, Mrs. LaRue Miller.

The campus proudly sits on 12 acres and opened in August of 2008. The school provides instructional programs using the state-mandated TEKS along with the district scope and sequence in all grade levels.

Serving PK through 5th grades including the district's Head Start Program, the school offers other unique instructional settings designed to meet the individual needs of all learners including: Deaf Education, Speech LEAD, PPCD (Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities), CBI (Community Based Instruction), Resource, Inclusion, Content Master/Learning Lab, ESL (English as a Second Language), Dyslexia services, RISE (Reading IS Essential), Gifted and Talented classes, Service Learning Projects, and Technology Integration in all subject areas. Extra-curricular opportunities include: Student Council, Art Club, Miller Chorus, Destination Imagination, Math Pentathlon, BellRingers, SpeedStackers, Science Club, WattWatchers, Safety Patrol, Yearbook Club, and others.

LaRue Miller Elementary School believes learners and leaders are volunteers who design and engage in meaningful educational experiences. Relationships, relevance, and rigor are the three "R's" of daily work. Learners are the priority in all decisions. Parents are our partners and participating members of the learning community who guarantee each child the support needed to be successful in school.

The entire learning community creates a climate where learners and their leaders continue on the positive path of educational excellence in order to meet or exceed high expectations while reaching for the "golden bell" of personal success.

As Mrs. Miller herself says, "The goal is simple... to help you achieve yours."
