First Day of School Enrollment
Superintendent Dr. Kennedy states that if the first day is any indication, we are off to a great school year. Part of this opening day enthusiasm can be attributed to the fact that our district earned TEA "Recognized" status for 2008, and two of our middle schools were "Recognized" as well. This was due to the hard work of all of our teachers on every campus. It was especially great to see that four of our five elementary campuses earned "Exemplary" status. More


It's Official: MISD is a "RECOGNIZED" District
News Release: 8/7/08

On August 1, the Texas Education Agency released ratings for all Texas school districts and schools. The district received a Recognized rating, four campuses received Exemplary, two received Recognized and two Academically Acceptable. The Texas Accountability Ratings indicate the performance of each school and district based on test results, dropout and graduation rates. Ratings using standard procedures range from Exemplary to Academically Unacceptable. More


Food Service Department launches online pre-payment system
MISD's Food Service Department is excited to provide parents a convenient, easy and secure online pre-payment service on the MyNutriKids.com web site. Parents can view their child's account balance, deposit money for meals and print reports on their eating history. Visit and register now!

MISD Students Succeed on TAKS
Based on recent data tables released from TEA in July

Student performance continues to improve in the Midlothian ISD based on the 2008 preliminary Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) tests.  In fact, MISD students continue to outperform their peers across the state on every test at every grade level. More


YMCA After-School Care
Midlothian ISD Elementary Schools

The YMCA Childcare Program is an after school childcare service offered at all six MISD elementary schools. The YMCA maintains a staff to child ratio of 1 teacher per 15 kids. The program is licensed by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services and conforms to the strict standards of the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas.  The program serves children in grades K-5, with care available from 2:45pm-6:30pm, Monday-Friday.  Click here for more information.


New Midlothian ISD Flash Alert System
Midlothian ISD is implementing a new system for emergency communications using electronic media (computers and cell phones) as the communication tools. The vendor selected for this task is FlashNews.net through Region 10 ESC. More >

MISD Announces the 2007 Gold Performance Acknowledgements
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) awarded all eight Midlothian ISD campuses and the District with Gold Performance Acknowledgements (GPA).  The GPA system acknowledges districts and campuses for high performance on indicators other than those used to determine accountability ratings. 

The Gold Performance Acknowledgments reflect areas of academic performance and growth that go beyond state accountability ratings. More >
