Assistant Principal Candidate Pool Coming In May
Midlothian ISD uses an Assistant Principal Candidate Pool as a part of its selection process for assistant principals. "The Pool" is populated with people interested in becoming assistant principals. Inclusion in The Pool requires approval by an interview committee. Membership in The Pool is limited to 12 calendar months. When the 12-month period is over, a candidate who desires to be in The Pool must re-apply.
There will be assistant principal positions available for the 2013-14 school year. Interviews for the Pool will be conducted in May.
An applicant will only need to apply for an assistant principal position to be considered for the Pool.
Substitute Information
Substitute applications are located at the front desk of the L. A. Mills Administration Building. Completed applications must be turned in to the front office at the same location. A copy of your driver's license, social security card, and high school diploma, college transcripts and teaching certificate, if applicable, must be submitted with the completed application packet. You will also need the social security number of a beneficiary to complete the FICA alternative program form.
Subs must attend a substitute training class and pass administrative screening before they can be activated in the system. The training class is currently offered in September and January of each year. All substitutes are subject to a criminal record check before activation in AESOP.
Midlothian ISD pays $55 per day for substitutes with a high school diploma or GED, $60 per day for substitutes with a four-year college degree, and $70 per day for substitutes with teacher certification from any state. Substitute terms for the same teacher for longer than 10 consecutive days, the pay increases to $90, $100, and $120 for each level of certification. If a substitute is used for a paraprofessional, the rate is $55 per day, regardless of the certification level.
