Spring Sub Training for Certified Applicants
Midlothian ISD will be holding a Spring Sub Training for certified applicants only. All applications, along with a copy of the applicant's valid teaching certificate, must be completed and returned to the Administration building no later than Wednesday, February 1st.
Applicants selected as substitute teachers for the district will receive a letter in the mail detailing the Sub Training information. The training is for NEW applicants to the district. If you have worked for Midlothian ISD in the past or did your student teaching, you do not need to attend this training.
Substitute Information
Substitute applications are located at the front desk of the L. A. Mills Administration Building. Completed applications must be turned in to the front office at the same location. A copy of your driver's license, social security card, and high school diploma, college transcripts and teaching certificate, if applicable, must be submitted with the completed application packet. You will also need the social security number of a beneficiary to complete the FICA alternative program form.
Subs must attend a substitute training class and pass administrative screening before they can be activated in the system. The training class is currently offered in September and January of each year. All substitutes are subject to a criminal record check before activation in AESOP.
Midlothian ISD pays $55 per day for substitutes with a high school diploma or GED, $60 per day for substitutes with a four-year college degree, and $70 per day for substitutes with teacher certification from any state. Substitute terms for the same teacher for longer than 10 consecutive days, the pay increases to $90, $100, and $120 for each level of certification. If a substitute is used for a paraprofessional, the rate is $55 per day, regardless of the certification level.
Questions about the AESOP system can be directed to Lisa Garrison or 972-775-8296 from 8 am until 4 pm.
