Employee Benefits

Midlothian ISD offers a variety of benefit plans for our employees. Medical healthcare plans are provided in conjunction with TRS through the Activecare 1, 2, and 3 Program; while the supplemental benefits are orchestrated through our Third Party Administrator, First Financial Group of America.

Employees actively contributing as members of the Teacher Retirement System are eligible to participate in benefits offered by Midlothian ISD.

New Employees

New employees will receive a benefits packet the same day they finalize their new hire paperwork. Each new employee has 30 days, from the date of employment, to complete their benefit packet, and submit the completed information to the Benefits Office at Midlothian ISD. Participation in the healthcare benefits will be effective on either (1) an employee’s active day of employment or (2) the first of the month following the active day of employment. Most supplemental insurance benefits will be effective on the first of the month following 30 days of employment.

Should a new employee choose not to enroll within the initial 30 day signup, the next opportunity for enrollment will be during the next Annual Enrollment. (Certain special events such as a change in marital status, dependent status or employment status of an employee or spouse, may qualify for an exception to this rule. Contact the Benefits Office for further clarification.)
