MISD 100 Years!Midlothian ISD celebrates 100 years of excellence in education. Reaching higher, gaining momentum, and moving aggressively describe what is presently happening in the district. This progress is the establishment of academic standards, improving student achievement, and continually finding new ways to ensure that every child succeeds in learning.

MISD has increased the student population by 33% in five years. The school district has approximately 111 square miles serving approximately 6,000 students who reside within the boundaries of Cedar Hill, Mansfield, Maypearl, Ovilla, Venus, and Waxahachie. Ranked as one of the top fastest growing school districts in the state, the district strives for excellence and continually focuses on providing the best learning opportunities for students. Education is a process of continuous growth here in Midlothian.

With over 700 employees serving the needs of 6,000 students, the teaching staff is dedicated to continual learning. Professional development is an ongoing commitment with teachers focusing on content and instructional strategies, the alignment of curriculum, the integration of technology and the important task of building strong readers. The teaching staff endeavors to provide quality instruction and receives ongoing professional development through the district staff development program.

Midlothian ISD includes five elementary schools grades Pre K - 5, two middle school grades 6-8, and one high school grades 9-12. The schools retain a long history of recognition for student achievement and excellent student discipline. There is pride in the care and maintenance of facilities and the provisions for good learning environments.

The City of Midlothian is conveniently located thirty miles south of Dallas and 30 miles southeast of Ft. Worth. Known as the “Cement Capitol of Texas”, the growing community blends a rural quality of life with urban amenities, enriched by exceptional schools, churches and neighborhoods where innovative partnerships of citizens, businesses and governments respond to community needs.
