The Walnut Grove 7th grade A team defeated Frank Seale 49-41. Payton Parker led all scorers with 21 points, and Russell Smith and Isaac Rangel each added 11. The team's final record for the season is 11-4. The Walnut Grove 7th grade B team was defeated by Frank Seale 26-21. Ross Ivey led Walnut Grove with 6 points. The team's final record for the season is 4-10. February 3
The Freshmen lost 31-46 in their final game of the season. The JV lost 28-64. Their overall record is 20-6 and their district record is 7-6. The Varsity lost 25-61. Their overall record is 13-17 and 4-9 in district. The JV and Varsity will play their final game of the season on Tuesday night at Grand Prairie. The Varsity will play at 6 PM and the JV will play at 7:30 PM.
The Frank Seale Cubs B team played a tough game Thursday night against the Wester Wildcats. Hector Hernandez led the offense with 10 points and contributed more rebounds than anyone on the court. Kylar Castillo added 8 more points to the offensive effort. Joel Mathis and Spencer Murphy came up with 3 points each. The other 6 points came from Raby Hampton, Hunter Priest, and Jake Ammerman who had 2 each. The final score was 49-30. The Cubs plan to close out the season with a victory next Thursday against Walnut Grove. February 2
The Lady Cats will finish their season against their in-town rival, FSMS on Thursday at Frank Seale. Finish Strong, Lady Cats! The Walnut Grove 8th grade A team defeated Jobe 28-27. Grant Upchurch hit the game winning shot with 9 seconds remaining to seal the win. Charles Hoard led Walnut Grove with 7 points and Zach Humphreys added 6. The team's record on the season is 6-8. The Walnut Grove 8th grade B team was defeated by Jobe 52-28. Andrew Catala led Walnut Grove with 9 points and Landon Chamberlain added 6. The team's record on the season is 4-9. The Ladycats 8th Grade B Team won against Jobe Thursday night with a score of 30-26. Stephanie Wyatt and Haylee Austell tied for most points scored with 8 each. Abby Blood contributed 6, Bailey Fisher, 5, Kelsey Lonsford, 2, and Rachel Prewitt, 1. Abrielle Dunbar helped the team with several assists and Kayla Brand with several rebounds. The team made their last home basketball game at Walnut Grove one to remember.
January 31
The JV won their 20th game of the season. They defeated Legacy, 36-19. They are now 20-5 overall and 7-5 in district. The Varsity also won with a shot at the buzzer by Sam Drusch, 50-48. They were led in scoring by Kayla Robinson with 18 points and Alyssa Freeman with 10 points. They were led in rebounding by Karrington Slaydon with 7 and Meghan Turner with 6. They are now 13-16 overall and 4-8 in district. Friday night the Lady Panthers will host Cedar Hill. The Varsity will play at 6 pm and the JV will play at 7:30 pm. The Freshmen team will play at Cedar Hill at 6 pm. |
