| From the Athletic Director |
Mission Statement Our mission is to go above and beyond to provide all students in the Midlothian Independent School district the opportunity to participate in extracurricular athletic activities and ensure compliance with all State, University Interscholastic League, and local board requirements. Our athletic program will provide our student-athletes with the best opportunities to participate and excel in a sport, promote sportsmanship, pride and dedication, and produce champions in sports and in life. Purpose and Philosophy The overall goal of the athletic program is to serve and to educate student-athletes. It is very important that we promote academics as well as athletics to students, their families, and the community. Our program will build and maintain school pride and enhance the overall environment of the community. We will be a facilitator for community involvement, and we will support our administration, faculty, and students at all times. Our vision in the athletic department is to graduate 100% of our student-athletes. We tell our athletes that a diploma is only the beginning of the educational process. We believe that athletics and academics can work hand in hand, and academics will always be priority in our athletic program. Athletics provide an opportunity to cultivate the development of the whole person -- the mental, physical, social, and emotional. |
