Superintendent Search Process

MISD has a contract with Horn, Smith, Wood & Preston, which is a superintendent search firm. On December 14, a proposed calendar was set detailing the information for Board members in regard to proceeding with the superintendent search. (Dates are subject to change.)

• Dec. 17 - Board set qualifications for superintendent candidates
• Dec. 18-March 8 - Solicitation and recruitment of candidate
• Jan. 18 - Profile meetings with teachers, administrators and community
• March 8 - Deadline for accepting applications
• March 22 - Presentation of candidates to board
• March 30 - April 2 Interview candidates
• April - Name lone finalist
• June 1, 2010 - New superintendent begins
