MISD to host School Walk for Diabetes event
On October 16, 2008, Midlothian ISD will host a School Walk for Diabetes event. School Walk for Diabetes is an educational fund-raising program of the American Diabetes Association (ADA) that teaches students the benefits of making healthy life choices, including getting daily exercise and eating nutritious foods. The event is from 5:30-8:00pm at the MHS Track and Field.
We are writing to ask you to donate to our fund-raising campaign. Our students, staff and volunteers would be so grateful for your support. A percentage of the funds will be returned to Midlothian ISD for medical supplies and PE/recess equipment.
Also, if you donate, your company’s name and logo will be visible on the day of event. Sponsoring this event is an excellent way to promote your company in the community.
The funds raised through School Walk for Diabetes will help the American Diabetes Association in accomplishing their mission— to prevent and cure diabetes and improve the lives of all those affected by diabetes. The programs and research supported by the ADA help the more than 24 million people living with diabetes today. Every 21 seconds, someone is diagnosed with diabetes.
