Nena Challenner Named Principal at T.E. Baxter Elementary
The Board announced the appointment of Nena Challenner as the new principal for T.E. Baxter Elementary. Challenner has been the assistant principal at Longbranch Elementary School for the past 4 years.

Nena Challenner received her Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and her Master of Education degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce. She has 19 years teaching experience in both general and special education. Challenner began her teaching career in Duncanville ISD where she taught for 9 years, and has been in Midlothian ISD for 14 years.

Nena Challenner stated, "I am so pleased to be named principal for T. E. Baxter Elementary for 2005-2006. Having the opportunity to work with students, teachers, parents, and community as elementary principal is truly a dream fulfilled."

Karen Childers Named Principal at Mt. Peak Elementary
The Board announced the appointment of Karen Childers as the new principal for Mt. Peak Elementary. Childers, who is currently the assistant principal at J.A. Vitovsky, will assume the principal role effective January 2005. Robin Bullock, current principal at Mt. Peak, has recently been named principal at Frank Seale Middle School.

Karen Childers received her Bachelor and Master of Elementary Education degrees from North Texas University. She has 24 years of teaching experience. Childers began her career as an elementary teacher for Lewisville ISD and also taught at Crowley ISD, Northside ISD in San Antonio, and Mt. Peak Elementary.

Karen Childers stated, "It is an honor and a privilege to be named the principal of Mt. Peak Elementary. I am so excited to be able to work and learn from the faculty and staff. I am certain that the outstanding success of Mt. Peak will continue because of the firm foundation that has been established by the last two principals and the hard work from teachers, students, and parents. I am excited and ready to get started."

Cherie Wagoner Named Principal at J. A. Vitovsky Elementary
Beginning next year, J. A. Vitovsky will convert to a PreK-5th or K-5th grade campus. Cherie Wagoner, who is presently the principal at T.E. Baxter Elementary, will take the challenge of setting up this new campus as principal of J. A. Vitovsky. Betty Moore, current J. A. Vitovsky principal, will retire at the end of this year after many dedicated years of service to Midlothian ISD.

Judy Walling Named Director of Instruction
The Board officially announced Judy Walling as the Director of Instruction. She is currently the Director of Special Education and will assume her new role effective July 2005. Dolores McClatchey, current assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction, will retire at the end of this year with over 40 dedicated years of service.
