July 20, 2005

The school board recently announced new head softball coach Jennifer McFalls as the interim Athletic Director, as well as, approving Adam Henke as the Panther's new head football coach.

Jennifer McFalls
Head Softball Coach/Interim AD

Jennifer McFalls, a 2000 Olympic Gold Medalist, was recently hired as the head softball coach and interim athletic director. Jennifer is a graduate of Texas A&M University and attended South Grand Prairie High School. She recently came from Hockaday Private School in Dallas where she served as a varsity softball coach and interim athletic director. McFalls was also an assistant coach at Texas A&M University (1995-97) and the University of Oklahoma (1997-98).

As a NCAA All-American, McFalls was an alternate for the 1996 Olympic softball team and helped Team USA capture the gold medal in the 1998 World Championships, 1999 Pan American Games, and scored the winning run for the United States to bring home the gold in the 2000 Olympic Games held in Sydney, Australia. During 2000-01, she worked as a special assignment reporter for WSMV-4, a local NBC station in Nashville covering the Tennessee Titans and Nashville Predators. Among other accomplishments, she was recently chosen to serve on the 2008 Olympic softball selection committee.

Nonetheless, Midlothian ISD is honored to have Jennifer as a staff member who will be joined by additional softball instructors to enhance the girls softball program.

Adam Henke
Head Football Coach

Adam Henke recently accepted the position as head football coach after Gary Oliver's recent resignation. He was hired as the offensive coordinator during the 2004-05 school year. Henke is a graduate of Sam Houston State University, where he lettered in football. After being injured in 1994, he started student coaching and later became a graduate coach in 1997. Henke began his career at Bishop Lynch High School as the Offensive Coordinator. In his sixth season at BLHS, he compiled a winning record of 57-20 with 4 district championships, 3 regional championships and 2 state titles. While at Bishop Lynch he taught Computer Applications and Programming Class, served as the Curriculum Council representative and Department Chair.

Although the Panthers had a good season last year finishing at 7-4 and advancing to playoffs, Henke anticipates a better record for 2005-06. With a positive, hands-on coaching style, he's excited to be the head coach in a school with great leadership, great students, and a great future.

Henke's wife, Cortni, is a 3rd grade teacher at J.A. Vitovsky Elementary. They are expecting their first child in December.
