PrintGains in Midlothian ISD Student TAKS Performance

The hard work of our students and teachers across the Midlothian Independent School District hasresulted in significant improvement of our 2006 Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS)performance. The following chart provides a comparison between the 2005 and 2006 test resultsindicating the percentage of students mastering the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).Commended Performance measures student achievement at its highest level. Students in this cat-egory performed at a level that is considerably above the state passing standard. The percentage of ourstudents meeting Commended Performance has increased since 2003-2004.

The district expects each campus to receive numerous Gold Performance Acknowledgements.Acknowledgment is given for high performance when the campus or district is rated AcademicallyAcceptable or higher and has met the acknowledgment criteria on one or more of the following indi-cators: attendance, commended reading, math, writing, science, comparable improvement in reading/ELA and math and recommended high school graduation plan.
