Girls Basketball Game Cancellation:
MISD has been notified by Grand Prairie that they no longer have a Freshman Girls' team. Unfortunately the Freshman game on Monday, February 6th has been cancelled.
UIL District Alignment
On February 2, the Texas University Interscholastic League announced its district alignments for the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 school years. UIL governs most secondary extracurricular activities in Texas and assigns classifications to schools based on the high school enrollment. During the October snapshot date, Midlothian High School had 2,351 students. The cut-off to be considered a 5A school district is 2,090+ students.
Midlothian schools will be in District 7-5A for two school years. The high schools in MISD's new district are: Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Duncanville, Grand Prairie, Mansfield High, Mansfield Timberview, Midlothian and South Grand Prairie. View the UIL's complete alignment.
Free Online Course for Parents of Student-Athletes
The MISD Athletic Department invites all parents of student-athletes to take a free online course offered by The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). It takes less than 30 minutes of your time and can provide valuable information. You will have to register, but there is no cost.
Parents of Middle School Students that are interested in Golf
Our programs have already benefited from a year of middle school golf and know that this program is key for taking our really good high school program to another level. More
